Kirk deViere
Kirk deViere was elected to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners as a District 2 representative in 2024 for a four-year term and was subsequently elected Chairman of the Board on December 2, 2024. Kirk is originally from Florida, and after attending college and 10 years of service in the US Army, deViere found his home in Fayetteville and Cumberland County in 2000.Prior to his role, deViere served two terms as a North Carolina State Senator and one term as a Fayetteville City Councilman. He also currently serves as a Commissioner on the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission, appointed by the President Pro-Tem of the NC Senate.deViere’s extensive community service spans over 20 years, including board leadership roles with Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, and many others.Professionally, he owns and operates 219 Group, a full-service advertising agency with offices in Fayetteville and Raleigh. deViere is married to Jenny Beaver deViere, and they have one son, Greyson. They attend Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.
