Angela, a lifelong resident of the 46th Ward, comes from a multi-racial family with deep roots in the community. She attended local schools, graduating from Uplift Community High School where she was a founding member of Voices of Youth in Chicago Education. Her early advocacy work led to recommendations still used by Chicago Public Schools today. Angela earned a degree in public policy from DePaul University and became the youngest president of Voice of the People in Uptown, a non-profit focused on affordable housing.
