Service: U.S. Marine Corps
After graduating from Harvard in 2010, Jake served as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. He commanded a platoon of 30 Marines on a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 2012 and then joined a special operations unit, where he commanded a 60-man counter-narcotics operation in Panama. Jake is now a captain in the Reserves.
Since returning home in late 2013, Jake has been a research associate at Harvard Kennedy School, where he wrote about best practices in local government and joined Governor Baker’s Transition Committee on Better Government. Jake has also been a partner at a successful Boston start-up.
